Welcome from the Head of Centre, Tom Lehman

Welcome to ACS International Schools Centre for Inspiring Minds.  We invite all stakeholders in the education community to become involved in our search for a better understanding of, and best practices in, teaching and learning.

At the heart of this effort is our belief that inspiration contributes immeasurably to the success and well – being of people in most, if not all, endeavours.  It’s influence on the work of the teacher and learner in a school environment is of particular significance.

An inspired teacher or learner reflects a deep interest and passionate engagement with an idea, a pursuit, a problem, or a question and this can have a very positive influence on their motivation, something highly prized for its positive effect on the desired outcomes of teaching and learning.

A key source of inspiration for teachers and learners is a creative educational environment where ideas are explored, new ideas prized, creative solutions to problems new and old encouraged, and where “there is not failure but only valuable feedback”.

We also believe that opportunities to generate the creativity and innovation that can inspire us abound in an environment where teamwork and collaboration flourish.  Please join us as we explore how best to nurture effective teamwork and collaboration and investigate the new ideas that emerge that may change our understanding and practices in schools.
