Day 1 Boys Varsity
Stats

The boys Varsity basketball team secured a rather easy win against
The American International School of Vienna (ISV.) As their first
game of the tournament, the boys had some smart passes, solid
offence and defence, spot-on free throws, and even some 'man
against wall' play in the very small gymnasium. The Cougars started
out strong and stayed strong with a final score of 84-15, to their
surprise. "We heard that they (Vienna) beat Munich last year in the
tournament, so we thought they'd be some tough competition, but it
didn't turn out that way," says point guard, Ben Marsden.
With the team communicating and working together, every player
managed to score throughout the game. As their first game was not
very intense, they hope to play more challenging teams, and win, as
the competition progresses. As their head coach, Matt Buck, says,
"I think game one was a very good chance for the team to relax
after a long day of traveling, get some good playing time, and
settle into the tournament. Game 2 should be very similar as one
Vienna school beat the other Vienna school by five points earlier
in the day. Tomorrow, (Saturday) will be a harder day with Zurich
and Munich providing tougher competition."
These boys have started the tournament on a good foot and we all
wish the Cobham boys good luck as they continue in the rest of the
competition.

Boys Stats Day 2

Boys
varsity clinch a clean run.
Our Cobham boys had an intense victory against Munich with a final
score of 42 - 30. Using their defensive, offensive, passing and
shooting skills, the Cougars came back strong, when they were
behind, ending their last game of the tournament with a great
win.
When the boys were asked how they felt they did on court, Jake
Jimenez (No.6) responded, "We did really well, I think, on court.
We really started jelling and communicating."
The boys really showed their talent and drive to succeed
throughout the entire tournament. As a result of their hard work,
the boys came in first place in the overall tournament.

No 5 Zach Jeminez takes on 3 Munich
players to set-up a crucial play.
