High School (age 14-18)

Please note: The High School division will have a phased opening, beginning with Grade 9 (ages 14-15) in September 2012. Further Grades (10, 11 and 12) will be added in successive years.

The High School will provide a varied and challenging college/university preparatory programme to meet the needs of a diverse international population. Our aim is to graduate students who are resourceful, independent thinkers. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions, make ethical and aesthetic judgments, think critically, and articulate their ideas by writing and speaking clearly.

The High School aims to deliver a similar range of academic programmes successfully offered at our three UK campuses [learn more] - preparing ACS graduates to attend many of the world's finest universities.

We are delighted to announce that ACS Doha is now a candidate school* for the IB Middle Years Programme and the IB Diploma Programme. The school is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy - a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that ACS Doha believes is important for our students.

In addition to focusing on student's academic progress, we are committed to a student's whole development and, to this end, we will provide extracurricular activities including sport, fine arts, community projects, and specific interest clubs.

We support the emotional and social development of our young adults through our guidance counsellor and our advisory programme. A college counsellor assists students in their course selections by regularly meeting with students and parents, and providing them with expert advice to best prepare them to succeed at the next step in their educational journey.

Through our offerings, ethos, and collaborative partnership between families and staff, we aim to inspire our students to be inquisitive scholars, principled individuals, and effective communicators who are able to live fulfilled and successful lives and adapt to new roles across the globe.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme (and in addition the IB Career-related Certificate).
