ACS Egham IB students achieve 100 per cent pass rate
08 July 2011
Students at ACS Egham International School received their
International Baccalaureate (IB) results on Wednesday
7th July. Every one of the 31 students that completed
their exams last month has passed their IB Diploma and can now
celebrate and look ahead to university. The students achieved an
average score of 34 points, which is equivalent to 479 UCAS points
or four A grades at A level.
Students at ACS Egham will now be getting ready to attend
universities across the UK, America and elsewhere in the world.
Alan Perkins, IB Coordinator at ACS Egham, said:
"I am absolutely delighted for the class of 2011, who have
really shone over the past two years. With a 100% pass rate, all of
our students can be really proud of themselves. I wish them all the
best for their future careers."
The IB results have been announced in the same week in which a
research report by ACS International Schools showed that the IB
Diploma is rated very highly among university admissions officers.
UK admissions officers deem the qualification to be stronger than A
Levels in a range of attributes including communication skills,
independent inquiry, ability to cope with pressure and open
mindedness.
The report, now in its sixth year of publication, also revealed
the growing competition for places, with over three quarters of UK
admissions officers stating that they have more students to choose
from this year than in 2010.
