ACS Egham Kindergarten Become Green Angels

We can make a
difference!
Under the Transdisciplinary Theme of
Sharing the Planet, Kindergarten have been
inquiring into the ways we can establish practices in order to
sustain and maintain the Earth's resources.
The students went for a campus walk during which they identified
waste bins, recycling bins, water butts, a compost heap, used paper
supplies and re-usable plastic cups. They we shocked when they
peered into the bins outside the dining room. The waste bins were
full of paper plates and plastic bottles!

"Who put them here?"
"Don't they know what can be
recycled?"
"Can we teach them?"
"Where are the recycling bins?"

The next day Kindergarten arrived outside the dining room,
dressed in green, just in time for High School morning recess. They
took along a classroom, recycling bin and were ready for action. As
students came out of the dining room carrying their snacks,
Kindergarten were ready to help them.
"When you have finished can you please put your
paper plate in our recycling bin?"
"Would you like to put your can in our recycling
bin?"
"Please help recycle?"
The High School students were very receptive.
