Egham MS Honors Choir - AMIS Festival in Delhi 2012
12 February 2012
"Today was the last day of our journey, after waking up at
6:45 am and making sure everything was packed up, I woke up "the
sleeping Princess" (my roommate Szymon) at 7:15. After that we ate
breakfast and were ready to go. However, the bus that was meant to
pick us up did not come. We took a taxi to school so that we would
not be late (we later learned that the bus was not meant to pick us
up).

We were dropped off at one of the main gates of the AES.
Soon Mrs Walters and Mr Roach came in the teachers' van. Then we
set off for the airport. At the airport, after checking our
luggage, Mr Roach tried to pick the nose of a three-meter tall iron
statue of an elephant. After going through security we soon learned
that there was no currency exchange after it. Due to that fact
everyone wanted to spend all their Rupees in the shops at the
airport because there was a very small chance of us being able to
exchange Rupees back in England. After having a pretty big shopping
spree we got back to our meeting point and headed for our
gate.
Then we got on board our airplane and flew off to England
ending this fantastic adventure. During the trip to India we had a
chance to see many different aspects of the country. We saw the
Impressive Taj Mahal as well as the Delhi Haat market where we
bought most of our souvenirs, but most importantly we met new
people and had fun while practicing and performing 9 songs in
different languages, in front of a big audience in a great music
festival!

Next year's AMIS festival is planned to be in Beijing. I
hope it will be equally as brilliant as this festival, or even
better, but most of all I hope all the participants will have even
more fun."
