IB Diploma Centre Official Opening - 2011
16 September 2011
On Tuesday 13th September the Diploma Centre finally received
the opening that it deserved with a gathering of parents and
teachers to celebrate the centre and all that it promises over the
years to come. The brainchild many years ago of Deborah Bailey the
HS secretary and Virginia McKniff the College Councellor who both
had seen and understood the need of Diploma students at ACS Egham
to have a place that they could gather, work together and identify
as their space.

Already students feel very much at home - and there is a
tangible difference in the work ethics and Grade 11 and 12 spirit
from the start of this year.

Mr. Lewis in his speech at the opening explained how he has
noticed this change and hopes that it will continue to build on ACS
Egham students' excellent achievement in the Diploma program

There is a dedicated lounge space (seen above) with room for
tables for collaborative learning. There is also a quiet study
space with computing facilities for the necessary independant study
that all Diploma students particpate in (seen below.)
