Local Community is Important to our International Students
13 December 2011
As part of our ongoing Community and Service/ Environments
elective the grade 9 & 10 students visited Birchlands
Residential Home in Englefield Green, on Friday, 2nd December 2011.
This residential home is a rehabilitation and care centre for
people over the age of 60+ and some of the residents are nearly 100
years old.

This visit enabled students to broaden their outlook and was an
attempt to help them connect with their local community. During
this visit student demonstrated their care and appreciation for our
ageing population by interacting with the residents and hearing
their stories, thus developing a sense of school's theme of
Actively Building Community.

The students came back excited, looking forward to develop this
bond further. So watch this space is we continue to Actively Build
Community.
