Making friends
Moving to a new country or city is a major undertaking, and
finding the right school and place to live are just the begining
for relocating families. Settling in, making friends, and becoming
part of the community are all issues faced by international
families when they first move to the UK.
At ACS International Schools we operate a Buddy programme -
where students moving to ACS can be allocated a friend their own
age prior to their arrival at the school, ensuring that they are
able to ask questions and communicate with their peer group and see
a familiar face on arrival at the school.
Through the parent community, and Welcome committee, new
families will also be given opportunities to meet with fellow
expats and ACS parents, and be reassured that all the hurdles they
face as part of their international relocation have been
experienced by others too - and that friendly advice and
information are readily available.
