International Curriculum and High School Diploma

ACS offer a comprehensive and robust academic programme built upon the principles and standards of the international schooling. Our rigorous curriculum is designed to inspire our students to become successful, lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.

The curriculum encourages students to continue their studies in all of the major academic disciplines, rather than specialise too early. In the High School, students must earn credits (one credit per course per year) in English, Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities and Modern Languages. They must also choose from a wide variety of courses in fields such as the Arts, Technology and Physical Education. All ACS students work towards earning the High School Diploma and credit requirements for graduation, through the range of courses provided.

Our curriculum is guided by the values and beliefs embedded in the school's Philosophy and Objectives. We provide Early Childhood, Lower, Middle, and High School programmes that support preparation for colleges and universities around the world.

The schools use a variety of means to meet the needs of all students so that they have the best opportunity to learn and make progress. This is achieved by:

  • differentiating instruction
  • benchmarking developmentally appropriate standards
  • providing personal and academic counselling
  • assessing individual student needs (e.g., Child Study Teams)
  • providing specific programmes (e.g., English as an Additional Language (EAL), Native Language Enrichment (NLE), advisory, student leadership, community service, and health education).

All graduating ACS students receive a High School Diploma.
