Our Early Childhood Village is a language-rich and caring environment where active participation and meaningful learning go hand-in-hand with fun and friendship.

Jane Kullmann, Early Childhood Principal

Jane has been the Early Childhood Principal since 2010, after working for 20 years in the Lower School as a teacher and Assistant Principal. Jane has a M.Ed. in Early Childhood, and MA in International Education. Her Danish upbringing in Brazil, subsequent international school education, and her professional teaching experiences in North and South America make her feel right at home in ACS’s vibrant international community. Her love for children is only surpassed by her desire to give each and every one of her students the very best educational start in life.

We know a young child’s play is an important part of their growth and development. Through play children practice and consolidate a host of skills that help them acquire knowledge and make sense of the world around them.

Small classes, run by qualified and experienced teachers and teaching assistants, provide daily self-initiated activities, guided lessons, small group interactions, and large group experiences. This core programme is enriched by strong partnerships between teachers and parents, and regular lessons in Art, Dance and Movement, French, PE, and Forest School – all taught by specialists.

Amazing outdoor areas – our own playgrounds, all-weather activity field, woodlands and meadows – offer a rare mix of stimulating learning spaces for children to grow cognitively, physically, socially and emotionally.
