Through the Middle School years, we want our students to problem solve and think critically; to persevere; to have integrity; to take risks in their learning; to be creative and active; to care about their local, national and international community and to take action to make these communities better for all. Through this we endeavour to make the transition through the middle years a journey of discovery; culminating in confident and versatile young adults entering High School.

Robert Crowther, Middle School Principal

Robert’s journey to ACS has had many stops along the way. British by birth, raised in Australia, educated in Australia and the UK and living and working internationally since 1991. Robert’s international school career has taken him to Rome, Frankfurt, Berlin, Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta. In that time, he has taught in Lower Schools as well as Middle School English and Mathematics and Learning Support. He has been a divisional Principal, Assistant Principal, Head of School, Curriculum Coordinator, teacher trainer and member of authorisation teams for the International Baccalaureate Organisation.

Our goal is to inspire every student to love learning and, in doing so, reach their ideal academic and social self.

We align our curriculum to rigorous standards, preparing students to undertake the renowned International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, and/or the Advanced Placement (AP) Diplomas and courses in High School. In addition to core subjects, students study Languages, Drama, Music, Art, Health, and PE.

Students are also encouraged to participate in a diverse range of co- and extra-curricular activities including sports, and to chose from a variety of electives and clubs from Model United Nations to Coding. The responsibilities of community service and leadership are a focus with each grade level and play a vital role in offering a complete student experience.

Central to the success of our Middle School is the partnership we create with parents. As a learning community we understand that working closely together is the best way to support the needs and develop the potential of each and every student.
