ACS Cobham celebrates graduating class of 2018

Students from ACS Cobham International School celebrated their final year and academic achievements at a graduation ceremony attended by over 1400 family members, friends and staff.

182 students, aged between 17 – 18 years, have just completed their pre-university qualifications. They studied either the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, an internationally recognised qualification that will allow them to continue their studies at universities worldwide, or the Advanced Placement Programme, which is highly regarded by universities worldwide, particularly in North America.

The ceremony also included awards recognising the students’ outstanding achievements throughout their time at ACS Cobham. The Founders' Award was received by Angel Lamb and celebrates her academic achievement, contribution to school life, service to others and exceptional leadership.

Tony Eysele, Head Teacher at ACS Cobham, said:

Graduation is a wonderful event. It celebrates the students’ time at ACS Cobham, whilst also giving some insight to the incredible things they will achieve in the future. I am exceptionally proud of every student; their hard work has given them a right of passage into the next stages of their lives.

Rachel Yankey, guest speaker

The guest speaker at the graduation ceremony was Rachel Yankey, OBE, who played 129 times for England womens football team.

Her speech covered her early year struggles to make it in womens football as well as the hurdles she had to overcome to get to the top of her career. Her personal sacrifices but more importantly her passion and dedication resulted in success and hence she reminded the students that there are no short cuts to achieve your dreams.
