ACS - Investing in Our Future
Proud to become a charity
When ACS International Schools started in 1967, so did our commitment to provide high quality international education and to positively impact the communities we serve. Over 50 years on, while trends in education come and go, our founding principles remain. They’re at the heart of everything we do.
In 2018, we became a UK-registered charity and ACS International Schools In America Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation, was established in the US.
Back to our roots
We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings in 1967 with just one division and 35 students in Hampstead, London via campuses in Knightsbridge and Wimbledon to four campuses with 3700 students today. Our founders Manos J Poularas and Gordon E Speed were committed to advancing education. At the start, both men were actively involved with every aspect of school life, from painting classrooms to registering admissions and leading field trips. Their energy and drive established the values and principles that continue to inspire and enrich our international community more than 50 years later, and their commitment is one we are proud to uphold today.
Investing in the future
In addition to what we already invest, charitable donations enable us to award additional bursaries, new excellence scholarships and to develop our campus facilities, giving talented students access to an ACS International education and world-class teaching facilities, helping them thrive and achieve to the best of their abilities.
We work internationally and locally in partnership with schools (primary, prep, secondary and independent senior schools), higher education institutions, corporate partners and communities to share expertise and resources to foster community engagement.
Our students benefit too. Our partnerships enhance their curriculum and extend their learning beyond the classroom. They instil the importance of caring for others and being a responsible global citizen.
