Working at ACS Cobham

THE WORLD NEEDS NEW THINKING: GET READY!

As a group of leading international schools, we are committed to inspiring the world’s next global thinkers and doers. This has been our purpose for more than fifty years, since we first opened an international school in the heart of London to provide children from internationally-minded families with an education that prepares them to be the global citizens of tomorrow.

Together, we prepare our students by enabling their exploration of multiple pathways toward rewarding, passionate futures; ensuring they thrive both academically and personally on the global stage; and preparing each one with caring kindness to contribute in a world of constant change.

We believe in the importance of developing in our students the curiosity to ask questions, the courage to take risks, the compassion to care for all, and the knowledge, understanding, and confidence to thrive.

Why work at ACS Cobham?

The school's grounds enrich the teaching and learning experience by providing a beautiful backdrop for promoting environmental consciousness and sustainability. I am proud to be part of a community that not only prioritises academic excellence but also seeks to nurture a holistic education that prepares our students to be responsible global citizens
Chloe Welch, Social Studies Teacher Lead, Senior School
The best part about teaching at ACS Cobham International School is the flexibility we have to match the curriculum, instruction, and learning opportunities to the needs of today's children and today's world.
Liz McVey, EAL/Student Services Teacher, Lower School
Education involves the whole person on a journey to adulthood, and I feel privileged to be part of that journey. Whether that's in the classroom, on the sports field, during field trips, or on the stage, I want students to express themselves and enjoy their journey.
Noel Thomas Assistant Principal of High School
I enjoy working at ACS Cobham because it is a lovely environment to be in. Staff and students are friendly, and I have found that there is a passion from both to work hard and excel on the sports pitches
Sebastian Pedley, Assistant Head of Sport
I love teaching at ACS because our environment nurtures the whole child. The social and emotional aspects are as important as the academics. The children are allowed to develop at their own pace, learning through play. I love their curiosity about the world and the fact that they are independent, kind, and accepting of all.
Dee Matthews, Grade 1 Teacher
ACS Cobham is a wonderful place to teach as the student is always at the centre of what we do. I have worked in 6 International Schools globally, and I have never seen such incredible opportunities in Performing Arts than the students have here. From stand sharing with professional musicians to workshopping alongside West End performers, the sky is truly the limit.

An Award-winning Early Years Team

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team was awarded the Pearson Bronze Award for Early Years Team of the Year 2024. The award recognises the team’s high levels of enthusiasm, expertise, and commitment to the education of the children they work with.

The team has implemented the school’s own Early Childhood curriculum, allowing staff to be more enquiry-focused, play-based, and hands-on in their teaching, while maintaining the rigour of learning. Through their cross-curricular approach, the EYFS team integrates patterns of information between different academic subjects, such as English and Maths, and helps children develop the lifelong skills needed to engage with the world and build a better one.
