About the Curriculum

We offer the same philosophy and approach of our established UK schools at our Doha campus, embedded in the American Curriculum and full range of IB programmes that integrate international mindedness with the local traditions, culture and history of Qatar.

Our curriculum and instruction are based upon the rigour and multiple learning styles promoted through the International Baccalaureate programmes.

We promote high standards of scholarship, responsibility and citizenship in a supportive learning community. Our success is built upon the strong partnership between students, parents and staff in providing a positive and enjoyable educational experience.

I have been with ACS for the last three years and it is a strong rich environment for students to grow in. I really feel that with my kids.

Challenge & Enrichment Programme

While the vast majority of our students’ goals are successfully met through our core curriculum, the Challenge & Enrichment programme was created in 2014 to enhance provision for those who demand an additional level of challenge.

Native Language Enrichment (NLE)

PRE-K to 10th Grades

Non-native English-speakers are encouraged to maintain their native language and culture by participating in our NLE programme. This is run by parents and, although it is coordinated by the school, is not part of the school’s formal curriculum.

NLE students must have some communicative competency in the language, however this is left to the discretion of our native language teachers.

Native language classes are held before and after school for a maximum of 1 hour per week. Classes can take place during recess or lunch times – as approved by the division Principal.

A wide variety of languages are offered, and these vary from year-to-year according to the nationalities represented in the student body.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

EAL at ACS Doha serves the needs of non-English speaking students – from beginners to advanced levels – enabling them to reach a sufficient degree of proficiency in the English language to participate fully in our mainstream classes.
