International Baccalaureate (IB) results for 2020
CLASS OF 2020 - SanJana Menon
Student Sanjana Menon has been at ACS Doha for the past 4 years and has recently completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), graduating in June 2020.
Sanjana had applied to universities in the UK, US and Canada before deciding on studying in the UK at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland to pursue Business with Marketing.
“There are many components of the IB that I think have helped improve my skills. The two most important are research and time management. Juggling 6 subjects is no easy task. But with the help of my teachers I was able to effectively manage time and make sure I handed in quality work. Applying research skills and methods so early on in my life I think is a definite benefit of doing IB as it has prepared me for current times – research, knowing what sources to trust, reliability, validity, etc.”
However as well as thriving academically, Sanjana was immersed in a few of the many extra curricular activities that the school initiated. These included Stage Manager of the Drama Club and the Managing Director of Student Voice (student council school publication), to name a few.
“ACS Doha was an extremely supportive community where teachers and students alike were open to new ideas that made the school experience a lot more engaging and fun. Keeping this in mind, I was able to acquire and improve on a lot of skills that are essential for the world beyond education. Skills like leadership, time management, problem solving, critical and creative thinking.
