Early Childhood Principal
Rachel is originally from Melbourne, Australia and gained her Bachelor degree in Primary Education from Melbourne University. She has been working and living internationally for over 20 years, and has lived in South Korea, England, Romania, China, and most recently Serbia. Rachel holds a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and recently gained her International School Leadership Certification from the Ontario Principal’s Council.
Rachel has taught a range of age and grade levels, including the early years, and in her role as Deputy Principal and PYP Coordinator she has supported many schools in the PYP Authorization and Evaluation process. Rachel is an IB PYP site visitor and consultant and values being able to support schools and colleagues in developing in their understanding of the Primary Years Program.
Rachel is excited about her new role at ACS Doha, and will be joined by her husband and 2 lovely girls, Mia and Emma, who will be a part of the Elementary school. Rachel is passionate about inquiry and constructivist approaches to learning and teaching and seeks to establish a caring environment where our young learners feel confident, and are provided with experiences that foster their creativity, promote exploration, and nurture self-identity and community relationships.
