Striving for sustainability
At ACS Egham, we believe education holds the key to shaping the future stewards of our planet.
We are steadfastly committed to integrating principles of sustainability into the very fabric of our teaching and learning experiences. By cultivating a culture that champions understanding, awareness, and action, our mission is to empower students to spearhead the transition towards a more sustainable and regenerative world.

Co-curricular activities
Sustainability is also embedded into our co-curricular programme. Students can use their time outside of class reconnecting with nature and taking part in sustainability initiatives.
Upper School students have a gardening club and a Jaguars in Action club, both looking at keeping the grounds maintained and pristine. They work with the schools’ grounds team on various projects, including the planting of trees. The Big Dig club is an archeology club which explore the sites for long forgotten artefacts.
Co-habitats on campus
Together with parent volunteers and the ground team, students have planted a wildflower meadow which has attracted an insect, butterfly, and bee habitats.
The campus has a chicken coop on site with rescue chickens. Students help look after the chickens during term time, and the Student Council fundraises to buy chicken feed.
Looking ahead, ACS Egham will focus on how it can contribute to the broader ACS International Schools’ sustainability goals, particularly in areas such as energy savings, waste reduction, and greater community engagement.
