International Baccalaureate (IB) results for 2020
Class of 2020 - Emma Lang
Student Emma Lang has recently completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) having been at ACS Egham for 6 years. Although she is no stranger to International Schools having attended others in Copenhagen, Denmark, South Africa and Singapore.
Emma received offers from a number of UK Universities including St. Andrews and LSE but will be decided on SciencesPo, an international research university for Political Science located in France. She will be going to the Reims Campus, which has a Europe-America regional focus.
Emma believes her ACS Education, particularly the IB, helped her become a more determined student, to work hard and has most definitely given her a global and open minded perspective allowing her to understand and analyze global issues from various viewpoints.
“From what I had heard before starting the IB, I was expecting it to be very difficult and stressful, which it was. However, I am so grateful I chose to do the IB as I honestly think it has made me such a hard worker and has given me so many opportunities. I have never experienced a moment at ACS Egham where help wasn’t given when I needed it. I could always go to my teachers if I had any issues with work or questions about things I wasn’t sure of. All of my teachers pushed me to become a better student and reach my highest potential”.
“ACS Egham not only prepared me for my future education, it also helped me grow as a person. I was able to do things outside of my comfort zone and gain confidence. I was able to learn how to quickly make friends from all over the world. It has made me realise my passion for travelling and giving back to those in need, and the list goes on”.
