Renowned storyteller Niall de Burca performs at ACS Egham
As part of the school’s Artist in Residence programme, ACS Egham International School recently welcomed world-renowned Irish storyteller, Niall de Burca, to deliver a series of captivating storytelling performances and workshops.
Internationally recognised for his energetic and animated style of storytelling, Niall performed Irish folk tales, as well as traditional stories from other cultures, to Egham students aged 6 – 10.
Suzanne McCluskey, Lower School Librarian at ACS Egham commented:
Niall is an amazing and entertaining performer. His way of storytelling inspires our students to come away from his performances and workshops ready to engage with their creativity and find their own inner storyteller.
Inspiring both teachers and students, his lively performances demonstrated the cultural importance of storytelling across the globe. Pupils also participated in performance workshops during the visit, allowing them to work interactively with Niall and allowing their imagination to grow.
Suzanne McCluskey also added:
Learning about other cultures through traditional stories is extremely valuable to students at ACS, helping to develop them as respectful and internationally minded young people.
