ACS Egham students shine in performance with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Brass Quintet

Students at ACS International School Egham took centre stage, performing alongside the renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) brass quintet in a spectacular musical evening soiree.

The event, attended by ACS Egham families, the local community, music enthusiasts, and the Mayor of Runnymede, showcased an inspiring musical collaboration between the students and professional musicians. Playing on the grounds of the school, students performed a selection of pieces, including ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ by the Beatles and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen, highlighting their musical talents.

The evening marked a significant moment in ACS Egham’s year-long partnership with the RPO, reinforcing the school’s commitment to offering enriching arts education experiences.

Irina Walters, Head of Music at ACS Egham, said: “It was a real privilege to hear the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra brass quintet and the opportunity to perform alongside them on such a grand stage was an invaluable experience for our students. Our ongoing partnership with the RPO will aid our student’ development as musicians for years to come, and hopefully, be a memory they never forgot. It was truly a memorable soiree.”

The evening also provided a great opportunity to inaugurate ACS Egham’s 100-seat amphitheatre, the latest addition to the school’s performing arts centre. The new outdoor performance space features state-of-the-art lighting technology, including cutting-edge outdoor LED lighting with colour-changing capabilities.
