High School Principal
Born and brought up in East Kent, Lisa attended Grammar School in Dover and took her Bachelor’s degree in English and History at the University of Kent at Canterbury, followed by a postgraduate Diploma in Medieval and Tudor Studies. She taught both English and History at Grammar Schools in Kent, serving in a variety of senior roles and pioneering the IB Diploma programme to run alongside the traditional sixth-form curriculum. In 2011, she took advantage of her husband’s early retirement to move into the international sector, spending three years in Prague, a year in Rome and latterly three years in Portugal before joining ACS, working in roles such as Director of Studies, IB Coordinator, Assistant Principal and Head of Senior School while maintaining a strong classroom profile and serving also as an IB examiner.
Lisa is a vigorous advocate for student-centred learning and a promoter of curriculum development. Her two youngest children, who have moved with her through a series of international schools, are now at ACS Hillingdon in Grades 8 and 11.
