IB Career-related Certificate
The CP was specifically developed for students who wish to engage in career-related learning while gaining transferable and lifelong skills in applied knowledge, critical thinking, communication, and cross-cultural engagement. CP students undertake a minimum of two IB Diploma Programme (DP) courses, core studies, and a career-related study.
A career-related study supports the programme’s academic strength and provides practical, real-world approaches to learning. The CP core helps students develop knowledge, skills and attitudes required for lifelong learning. Contemporary careers place complex demands on graduates entering the workforce. The CP prepares students for businesses and industries that require workers with self-confidence, community interactions, accomplished personal and professional skills, an understanding of global languages, and the ability to make ethical decisions.
The Career-related Programme leads to further/higher education, apprenticeships or employment. CP components and the IBCP certificate are increasingly valued as university entrance credentials.
