ACS International School Cobham is seeking a Caretaker to start as soon as possible.
The role is to ensure that the school buildings are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and to provide caretaking service to meet the needs of the school as directed by the Caretaking Supervisor and Cleaning Manager. The Postholder is required to assist at school and non-school functions as required, such as set up and clearing duties and will also carry out duties such as school and postal deliveries.
This is a Non term time/all year round, permanent role working Monday to Friday from 7am – 4pm, 40 hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare function rooms and external spaces for meetings and events and clear up afterwards; this includes serving refreshments as required. Some events fall outside of normal working hours and will be covered by overtime
- Responsible for litter picking around campus, cleaning communal areas as well as checking and emptying bins throughout the day
- Front of house duties; delivering parcels, meeting/escorting visitors and contractors
- During school holiday periods the Caretaking duties include moving and assembly of furniture and assisting with deep cleaning the school, amongst other tasks
- Ensure all work is carried out in a cost effective and competent manner and to the required quality standard
- Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations, Health and Safety legislation and the use of Personal Protective Equipment where appropriate when carrying out duties
- Be aware of Emergency Procedures and location of First Aid equipment
- Be aware of Risk Assessments associated with their activities
- The post holder will be expected to assist in other duties within the Facilities department as necessary, supporting cleaners, maintenance, and grounds staff. In particular, at times of heavy workload, sickness and staff absences commensurate with the post holders’ level of responsibility.
- Delivering internal post and parcels to other campuses on courier run and when necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Full UK Driving License – Category B
- Experience of preparing for and, clearing down after events
- Experience of cleaning within a school environment
- Knowledge of COSHH, Manual Handling and general Health and Safety legislation
- Experience of cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning equipment.
