About the role
The Soft Services Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of soft services within ACS Hillingdon. The soft services at ACS Hillingdon refer to non-technical services, including: cleaning, waste management, pest control, landscaping, and other ancillary services that contribute to the smooth operation of a building or facility. The Soft Services Manager will ensure that these services meet the required quality standards, are performed efficiently, and comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities of the role
Supervision and Coordination:
- Supervise the daily activities of soft services team (e.g., cleaning, waste disposal, daily setups, hospitality)
- Day to day supervision of the cleaning team, monitor quality standards in line with service specifications and KPI’s for cleaning services
- Ensure all tasks are completed according to agreed schedules, quality standards, and operational requirements
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of service areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with the facility’s standards and policies.
- Implement quality control procedures and corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, feedback, and issues raised.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure that all soft services operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provide staff training on safety practices, hazard identification, and proper use of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and service providers.
- Act as the point of contact for customer feedback, addressing concerns, and resolving issues efficiently.
Staff Management and Development:
- Manage the training, and development of soft services team.
- Provide performance evaluations and feedback to ensure staff meet required standards.
Reporting and Documentation: - Maintain records of services provided, staff attendance, and incidents.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on soft services performance, issues, and improvements to senior management.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Experience of Supervising a cleaning / facilities team
- Experience of cleaning within a school environment or similar.
- Knowledge of COSHH, Manual Handling and general Health and Safety legislation.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources and contractors.
- Experience of cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a customer -oriented mindset.
This is a permanent, 52-week year-round contract position working Monday to Friday.
