ACS International Schools teams up with STEAM organisations for inspiring educational day for 10,000 children

High profile organisations which offer exciting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) career paths, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Mercedes F1, will be inspiring and energising 10,000 primary and secondary school students at ACS International Schools’ unique free event.

The inaugural event, STEAM 2022, will be held at Thorpe Park, Surrey, on the 4th October, providing a unique and engaging learning experience to 10,000 students from a broad range of backgrounds. From Formula 1 cars, to film and editing workshops and jet-powered human travel, speakers from diverse STEAM organisations will reveal an array of exciting career ideas and opportunities. The interactive day will see students from local state and independent schools participating in STEAM themed activities to earn their rides on Thorpe Park’s rollercoasters.

Organisations confirmed so far for STEAM 2022 include: Airforce Air Cadets, Barclays Digital, Bloodhound Team, Endeavour Steam Engine, Intel, INTO Film, Land Rover and Jaguar, LEGO, Mercedes F1 car, the RAF, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Supersonic Car, TED Talks, and Vex robotics.

Graeme Lawrie MBE, Partnerships Director, ACS International Schools, said: “We have been overwhelmed with the calibre of individuals and organisations that have already pledged to support and participate in STEAM 2022. We are excited to see what the day holds and are looking for even more fantastic organisations to participate in any way they feel able to, from delivering live demonstrations to sharing their expertise with the students, to help inspire and fuel interest amongst young people about the varied careers they might aim for.

“This event forms part of ACS’ charitable mission, which is to collaborate with state and independent schools across the region to raise the standards of teaching and learning through innovative, relevant and accessible initiatives, filling the gaps in mainstream services that have a positive impact on children’s education.”
