STEAM 2025 Returns to Thorpe Park

ACS International Schools is proud to announce the return of its groundbreaking STEAM event to Thorpe Park on 7th October 2025, following the overwhelming success of the previous two events. Now in its third iteration, STEAM 2025 promises to be bigger, bolder, and more inspiring than ever, with 9,000 primary and secondary students from its partner schools and 1,000 ACS students set to attend.

In a world changing faster than ever, ACS International Schools is committed to preparing young people not just for the classroom, but for life – for futures filled with uncertainty, innovation, and opportunity. STEAM 2025 embodies this mission: equipping students to be ready for what’s next, ready to connect ideas across disciplines, and ready to answer the world’s next questions.

The popular event will once again bring together over 60 partners, including Barclays, Microsoft, Surrey Police, the Royal Air Force, Accenture and the UK Civil Aviation Authority. These partners will lead hands-on workshops and high-energy activities designed to immerse students in real-world STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) concepts, careers, and challenges.

“We prepare our students for a future where cultures cross over, boundaries blur, and innovation is essential,” said Graeme Lawrie MBE, Partnerships Director at ACS International Schools. “STEAM 2025 is about more than just one day – it’s a launchpad. By collaborating with our outstanding partners, we give students, many from under-privileged areas, access to the people, tools and inspiration they need to thrive in the evolving world around them. With the skills gap in STEAM still growing, events like this are vital in opening doors to future careers and sparking lifelong curiosity for all.”

As in previous years, gamification will play a key role in engaging students. Attendees will collect stamps from participating in educational activities with various STEAM organisations, which they can exchange for access to Thorpe Park’s thrilling rides and attractions. For many of the young people attending, it will be their first-ever visit to a theme park combining excitement with purposeful, experiential learning.

“I’m delighted to join the STEAM ACS event to champion and show how books are an essential part of understanding technology,” said Beverly Clarke MBE, Founder and CEO, Technology Books for Children. “By inspiring children through stories not only makes tech relatable but also shows them that imagination and innovation go hand in hand.”

“I am excited about this event because it’s a great opportunity to engage young people with climate change and biodiversity in a fun way,” said Kirsty Shakespeare, Engagement Project Manager (Climate & Environmental Sustainability), University of Reading, and Climate Ambassador volunteer. “The event will empower them to think about what positive actions they can take back at school to help their setting become more climate resilient and biodiversity friendly, and hopefully consider green career options in future!”

STEAM 2024, saw the park transformed into a dynamic learning environment filled with giant robots, live science demonstrations, orchestral performances, and even supersonic cars.

Reflecting on that experience, a teacher from Cornerstone Academy, said: “I think it’s really great to have children involved in science experiments, and it gives them motivation to see the park and do something a bit different. STEAM is so important now because so many things are AI, computers and things like that so getting kids involved in something like that is good. Learning about STEAM opens career opportunities and jobs that they might not have known about before.”

A student from Esher Church School, said: “It was really important for having fun and learning about STEAM because that’s what we do at school. Without STEAM, the rides at Thorpe Park wouldn’t work properly. My favourite part was going on the rides and learning about STEAM and different parts of the body.”

This year, ACS is once again extending the invitation beyond its own campuses, welcoming students from a wide network of partner schools across the UK, reinforcing its mission to share expertise, widen educational opportunity, and raise standards in STEAM for all.

At ACS International Schools, readiness is more than a philosophy – it’s a promise. Our students are ready to innovate and create, ready for ideas that interconnect, and ready to become the new kind of citizen our future demands. STEAM 2025 is one more way we can offer the same opportunities to school children across Surrey and London areas.
