Busing

We currently have eight designated routes with a total of 18 selected areas that offer shuttle service to our community.

These selected areas provide shuttle service to pick up and drop off students at specific points along the designated routes.

Late buses are available at 5.00pm from Mondays to Thursdays only for students attending ACS after-school activities, and at 6.00pm on Mondays and 5.00pm on Fridays for Grade 9 to 12 students attending ACS Sports activities.

All families living within the Zone 1–3 shaded areas on the map can apply to use our Door to-Door busing service. This service becomes available with a minimum of 6 other students within the same area. The bus then would stop at all signed up houses prior to making its way to school.

After school activities late buses are shuttle service only for Grade 1 upwards.

ACS Hillingdon Transport Map

This depends on the area, but the average time can vary between 40 minutes to 1 hour. Local routes to and from the school can be shorter than this.

The majority of pickup times in the morning lie between 7am and 7.30am, and the average drop-off is between 4pm and 4.30pm. The specific times depend on the busing area and which service you are using (e.g. door-to-door or Shuttle). You will be notified of the specific times for your child prior to the start of the semester.

Only our Shuttle services have designated pickup/drop-off locations. The details of these will be provided to you by the Transport Office after confirmation of your registration to use the service.

Yes, within reason. The only reasons we would not be able to do so would be due to parking/vehicle size restrictions on the street in question or if the home address lies outside our busing catchment areas.

No, there are no other adults besides the driver on board the buses, unless a teacher is using the bus service to travel to/from the school.

All buses are monitored by the Transport Office using our tracking system and we have clear contact with all drivers throughout their journeys. Our drivers are very responsible and are quick to call and inform us if there are any problems.

The children are greeted at the school by the Transport Coordinator and a designated member of staff to ensure they arrive safely, and are seen safely onto their buses in the afternoon before departing the school to head home. If your child does not arrive at their drop-off point as expected, please contact the Transport Office/Security and we will assist you.

Any child using the door-to-door service is required to be met at the home address by a parent or guardian. If a driver arrives and it is clear no one is home, then the driver is instructed to return the child to the school for them to be collected from here.

The school transport is operated between the ACS Transport Department and external bus operators. All aspects of the routes are managed by the Transport Office and given to the operators to enact, and a constant stream of communication is open between both parties.

Our tracking system is called Vectare. This system will give parents access to their child’s busing schedule, make requests for late buses, and enable them to track the bus your child is on.

An email will be sent to all affected parents of those routes as soon as we are informed of any such issues.

Yes, we offer two late bus services from Monday to Thursday.

The first departs at 5:00pm and includes seven shuttle routes to various locations. For full details, please contact us at [email protected].

The second service runs at 6:00pm and is specifically for students participating in late sports activities. This service is demand-based, and the destination may vary accordingly.

No, it is a separate charge that is invoiced separately to tuition fees.

Yes, you can, however the Transport Office must be notified of any impending changes as far as in advance as you are able to, in order for the routes to be altered, information to be shared with the bus operator and any fee changes to be approved by our Fees Department.

If you are signing up for the new school year, it is best to contact us as soon as possible so we can ensure all the details are filled out correctly well in advance of the semester beginning. If your child is a current student and wishes to change their details for the following semester, please contact the Transport Office as soon as possible to enact these changes.

The driver will inform the Transport Coordinator, who will pass the information onto the relevant member of school leadership staff for that student’s year group to investigate. The first stage would be a warning to the student and their parents regarding their behaviour and a reminder of our rules when travelling. If the behaviour persists, then the child could face a weeklong ban from using the bus service. Any further instances that occur thereafter will result in the student losing their place on the bus permanently.
