The event is being hosted by Mr Nick Abraham, ACS Cobham parent and Chief Executive Officer of Amwins Global Risks. Based in London, he drives strategic initiatives for the division as the firm looks to continue its investment in the London/International market. Prior to joining Amwins Global Risks, Nick led the Atlanta office of Amwins Insurance Brokerage. Nick began his career with Markel, where he held underwriting, business development, and leadership roles over an 18 year period.

Nick serves on the board of directors for the WSIA Educational Foundation as Past President and as President of the Gamma lota Sigma International Risk Management and Insurance and Actuarial Science College Fraternity. He has been active on the WSIA committees, serving on both the Internship and Finance & Audit Committees. He also serves as the Chair of the Troy University Risk Management and Insurance Advisory Board and as a member of the Sorrell College of Business Dean’s Advisory Board.

We are pleased to announce ACS Chief Executive Dr Robert Harrison as our Keynote speaker for the morning. Dr Harrison earned his PhD in Religion and Sociology from Duke University and had dedicated his career to advancing global education. Before joining ACS, he spent over a decade with the International Baccalaureate, serving as Head of Middle Years Programme Development in The Hague, where he led innovations in curriculum and assessment worldwide. He has also taught at George Mason University, authored extensively on international education, and co-edited the IB Journal of Teaching Research. Prior to being appointed as Chief Executive, Dr Harrison was Director of Education and Integrated Technology at ACS.

Dr Harrison will be speaking on “Global Competence: Rearing children in a hyper-connected world” – exploring how we can equip the next generation to thrive amidst multiple, overlapping international crises and take advantage of opportunities emerging in the world today.
