Welcome to ACS Hillingdon

The IBDP is an academically challenging programme of education for students aged 16 to 18, preparing them for success in further education and life beyond.

It addresses students’ intellectual, social, emotional, and physical wellbeing, whilst enabling students to study six subjects at standard or higher level. The IBDP Core encourages further depth and breadth of knowledge:

Theory of Knowledge (TOK) explores the interdisciplinary nature among subject disciplines and encourages critical reflection and analysis.

Extended Essay requires students to select, research, and write an in-depth, independent research work of 4000 words in one of their six subjects’ areas, giving students the opportunity to become familiar with independent research and writing skills.

Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) is a fundamental part of the Diploma experience helping students to grasp the importance of extracurricular activities as an integral part of life.

Specifically designed to empower students who want to specialise in, and focus on, a career-related education, the IBCP’s three-part framework comprises:

• Career-related studies
• The study of at least two Diploma Programme courses

The distinctive IBCP core which is designed to create a bridge that connects each student’s chosen Diploma Programme courses and career-related studies

The IBCP prepares students for businesses and industries that require workers with self-confidence, community interactions, accomplished personal and professional skills, an understanding of global languages, and the ability to make ethical decisions.

AP is an internationally recognised programme offering university-level courses across seven disciplines, from Arts and Sciences to Languages and Social Studies. Students at ACS Hillingdon can opt for a tailored approach, taking a combination of AP and IB courses that offer the pace and rigour of first-year university study, while earning credit towards both the High School Diploma and future university degrees.

Respected by universities worldwide, AP courses develop strong study and time management skills, allow specialisation in areas of interest, and can even provide advanced standing or credits at university.

All ACS Hillingdon students graduate with an accredited High School Diploma, awarded by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Alongside the IB Diploma, AP courses, or a mix of both, the Diploma strengthens university applications and is recognised as an entry requirement by most North American universities.

This rigorous, well-rounded qualification ensures students leave ACS prepared for success at university and beyond.

ACS Hillingdon offers Lower School education for 3-10 year olds and Upper School education for 11-18 year olds. We off year-round enrolment, so prospective students are able to join us at any point throughout the year.

In Lower School there is a broad and balanced primary curriculum, that prepares students for independent learning through core studies in language, mathematics, science, and social studies.

In Upper School, the curriculum is designed to help students excel, ensuring they’re ready for the next stage of their academic career, underpinned by the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement courses, and the US High School Diploma.

ACS Hillingdon has a truly international and active community, parents play an important role in this community. There a regular events and opportunities that help bring the community together organised by the parents of ACS.

There is a full time-table of co-curricular activities before, during and after school that our students can get involved in. We strongly encourage and recommend all students to participate in co-curricular activities, to help develop passions and new skills.
