Discover why our parent community chose ACS Cobham for their children, how we have helped their child thrive, what they love about the community and teaching, and their engagement with the Parent School Organisation.
The main objectives of the Parent School Organisation (PSO) are:
- to support and enrich our children’s learning experience
- to help facilitate communication among parents, staff, and students
- to enhance the sense of community, which is so special here at ACS Cobham
For new families who arrive during the summer, the PSO Welcome Team hosts ‘welcoming picnics’ on campus for newcomers to start making friends and to help with the questions that inevitably come with moving to a new place. The Welcome Team also organises Welcome Coffees twice a year and runs a ‘buddy family’ programme, which matches new families with returning families who live in the same area or have similar-aged children.
THE PSO COUNTRY REP GROUP
The Welcome Team works closely together with the PSO Country Rep Group (CRG), which consists of one or more parent representatives from most of the countries represented on campus. The CRG reps aim to welcome each new family in their own native language, and help them settle in their new environment and culture.
Throughout the school year, the PSO sponsors several Parent Information Meetings (PIMs) led by the administrators and organises many other school-wide events, such as the Ice Cream Social, Halloween “Trunk-or-Treat,” Career Day, Staff Appreciations, and Party for the Planet.
Equally important, the PSO creates and supports various culturally-themed events throughout the year, such as the International Fair. We are so lucky to have children representing more than 70 nationalities at ACS Cobham, and students, parents, and staff fully enjoy celebrating our wonderful international community and learning about each other’s cultures.
