Ignas completed the full IB programme and was one of our highest-achieving students academically. An avid reader of The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times, he earned the prestigious honour of being the top student in Higher Level IB Economics and delivered an expertly written extended essay investigating the construction economy leading up to the 2023 World Cup. As expected, he also led the school football team as a frontman and was the top scorer in the division. This set him up as a competitive university applicant, receiving offers from the Universities of Edinburgh, Manchester, and Bath. However, after much deliberation, it became clear that the industry connections and business community integration offered by the Stockholm School of Economics were a better fit for his ambitions and provided the ideal environment for his continued development.

Neil was unique as a student in knowing exactly what he intended to pursue. The specialised nature of Supply Chain Management and Logistics made the search process particularly intensive. The options available in the UK had much lower entry requirements than Niel’s level of achievement. However, he was determined to pursue a pure logistics degree rather than a business degree with a logistics major. He ultimately found the ideal programme at Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

Timothee was a high achieving student, and his dedication extended beyond the classroom throughout his High School career. As a highly competitive runner, he distinguished himself among the strong pool of applicants to the University of Chicago. He now looks forward to making use of the Chicago Lakefront, located east of the campus, where an 18-mile mixed-use trail offers competitive runners stunning views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. He will be joining the roster of the university’s Division III Cross Country team at one of the world’s top 10 QS-ranked universities.

Filip initially regarded Loughborough University as an ambitious goal when compiling his list of potential universities. Although it was seen as a challenging target, Filip remained resolute and focused on his aspirations. Through consistent effort and dedication to his studies, he achieved excellent academic results, ultimately receiving an unconditional offer from Loughborough upon completing his grades. Filip’s success story illustrates the power of setting high goals and working diligently towards them. His approach extended beyond simply aiming for good grades; he also gave careful thought to his future career path. By thoroughly researching and choosing a course that aligned with his long-term objectives, rather than opting for a more conventional option, Filip highlighted the importance of students evaluating their choices and prioritising what truly matters to them when planning their educational and career paths.

Despite receiving an unconditional offer from King’s College London, a prestigious university many aspire to attend, Frida chose a different path—one focused on finding the best fit for her. Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) emerged as the better option, offering a highly international student body and a strong academic programme in International Business Administration, all within the vibrant business hub of Rotterdam. For Frida, EUR aligned more closely with her values and aspirations. Accepting the offer from Erasmus wasn’t just about prestige; it was about choosing a university where she felt she would thrive both academically and personally.

McKenzy’s journey from the driver’s seat to the engineering lab exemplifies his relentless pursuit of excellence and a deep understanding of motorsport. Despite achieving remarkable success in Formula E, including victories in high-profile races, McKenzy’s thirst for knowledge drove him beyond the steering wheel. His acceptance into the prestigious Motorsport Engineering programme at Oxford Brookes University marks a pivotal moment in his career, highlighting his determination to master both the art of racing and the science behind it. While continuing to compete in European championships, McKenzy is focused on a long-term goal: gaining the expertise to lead the team behind the trophies and victories. This dual-track approach—balancing a flourishing racing career with rigorous academic pursuits—demonstrates McKenzy’s exceptional drive and foresight. His story serves as an inspiration to students, proving that with passion, dedication, and a strategic mindset, it is possible to navigate multiple paths to achieve extraordinary goals.

At Tufts, Kaliyah will thrive due to the university’s strong emphasis on fostering close-knit communities and encouraging intellectual curiosity. Tufts’ commitment to interdisciplinary learning and active citizenship aligns with her desire to engage deeply with her studies while making a meaningful impact. Here, Kaliyah will find the support, opportunities, and environment that will enable her to succeed, allowing her to grow as both a scholar and a leader. This decision came after being offered a pathway to Columbia University in a couple of years. Although excited by this prospect, Kaliyah reflected on what mattered most to her—finding an environment where she felt she could thrive both academically and personally.

Lina’s journey exemplifies the power of self-discovery and purposeful career planning. Throughout her time at ACS Cobham, Lina’s passion for cultural exploration evolved from a personal interest into a career aspiration. She recognised the potential to make a meaningful impact through tourism, aligning her love for travel with her developing leadership skills. Lina’s thoughtful approach to her college search led her to Bournemouth’s programme, which is ranked second in the country for tourism studies and perfectly matches her goals and values. Her acceptance is not just an academic achievement but a testament to her ability to transform personal passions into a promising career path. Lina’s story inspires others to recognise and pursue opportunities that genuinely resonate with their interests and strengths.

Luca’s journey to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) highlights his exceptional talent and dedication as both an athlete and a student. Earning an NCAA Division 1 Soccer Scholarship as a goalkeeper for the VCU Rams underscores his skill on the field. What truly distinguishes Luca, however, is his decision to pursue sports psychology alongside his athletic career, reflecting his understanding of the link between mental and physical performance in sports. At VCU, Luca will showcase his goalkeeping abilities in the competitive Atlantic 10 Conference while deepening his knowledge of sports psychology. This dual pursuit prepares him for success both on and off the field, serving as a testament to the power of balancing athletic and academic excellence and inspiring others to do the same.

After taking a year off to work in the healthcare field and gaining invaluable hands-on experience, Ava leveraged her strong IB Diploma results to secure a place to study Medicine. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the increasingly competitive landscape of medical school admissions. Since the pandemic, the number of applicants has surged while the number of available spots remains limited. To stand out, many students now need to present achieved grades rather than just predicted ones and demonstrate genuine commitment to the medical profession through relevant work experience. Ava’s dedication and hard work have truly paid off.

From the moment Tara arrived on campus for a summer programme, she knew Tufts was her dream school. She immediately felt a strong sense of community and belonging in an intellectually stimulating environment that she believed would bring out the best in her. Tufts is renowned for its vibrant academic community and emphasis on active citizenship. In her supplemental essay, Tara went beyond generic information; she shared personal anecdotes and demonstrated a deep understanding of the university’s values. Her essay highlighted the importance of genuine research, finding the right fit, and crafting a compelling “Why Us” narrative.
