In Boarding, we also offer additional homework support from tutors, alongside conversational English practice with their peers and houseparents.
For our IB Diploma Students, there are opportunities to maintain and develop their home language(s) through School Support Self-Taught Literature courses, which can lead toward the IB Bilingual Diploma. .
Language fluency grows through interactions with peers. Our extensive programme of co-curricular activities, from competitive sports teams to performing arts productions, provides opportunities for students to practise English in a real world setting.
Achieving excellence in AP, IBDP, and beyond
The EAL programme helps students succeed in AP and IBDP courses by improving their academic English skills and supporting their literacy in their home language(s). As a result, our multilingual students achieve high academic success.
Every year, graduates go on to attend top universities in the UK, the US, and other countries.
Who is the EAL programme for?
The EAL programme is designed for motivated students joining ACS Cobham who have a broad range of English language proficiency. It is available to qualified students in Grades 5 to 12, helping them fully engage in academic and co-curricular activities, contribute to our multilingual community, and succeed in rigorous academic courses, including an opportunity to earn the prestigious IB Bilingual Diploma.
