We offer a broad and exciting programme of after-school activities that encourage children to develop new skills and talents, and find their passion beyond the classroom.
We believe that co-curricular activities are an important part of a child’s education and encourage each child to really take advantage of what’s on offer.
We have a thriving and popular performing arts co-curricular programme for our Lower School students. This includes orchestra and choir for students in Grades 3 and 4.
The orchestra offers an opportunity for all students to play in an ensemble group from a beginner level. The orchestra takes part in concerts with ensembles from other divisions throughout the year. The choir provides our students a chance to sing with others here at school in concerts and larger experiences like Young Voices at Wembley.
Our Private Music Lesson programme is available for all of our students, either during the school day or after school, focusing on specific instruments from the flute to the trombone.
Students can audition to join our annual Lower School theatrical production, which is rehearsed and performed in our Performing Arts Centre for an audience. We have also attended the MTI Junior Theatre Festival in Birmingham twice with a shortened version of the production and won an award for our ensemble work.
The music performance programme is rooted in the curriculum, with event opportunities including concerts, recitals, whole-school choral and instrumental performances, and an annual summer concert.
Our Lower School students benefit from our world-class sports facilities, including football pitches, a sports arena, a competition-sized swimming pool, a floodlit all-weather astro turf pitch, a 400m track, and tennis courts.
Sports available include football, basketball, cross country, track and field, swimming, and tennis. Our Clubs programme has grown to include jiu jitsu, tag rugby, pickleball, jump rope, inline skating, and table tennis.
Participation is a key focus for our school, and students are encouraged to try different sports throughout the academic year.
Our comprehensive Swim School follows the Swim England Learn to Swim Stages. This programme allows students to build on basic fundamental skills and progress into more advanced aquatic disciplines.
Our competitive Swim Team starts in Grade 2 and provides individuals with a platform to compete at Regional, National, and International levels.
Lower School has competitive sports teams, Cougars, in football and swimming, and any child can try out for these teams.
