A unique learning environment
In Lower School, we offer a holistic approach to learning that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning, preparing children for an ever-changing world.
Our broad and balanced primary curriculum includes core studies in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies, as well as special area lessons in world languages, art, PE, performing arts, and Forest School. We don’t ‘teach to the test’ with a narrow focus on grades. Instead, we closely monitor each child’s individual progress throughout Lower School, allowing them to demonstrate their knowledge in ways that best suit their unique learning style.
Children are encouraged to explore the world around them, collaborating with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds and gaining insights into their local and global communities. This approach fosters the development of truly global citizens who are ready to stand out.

Responsive Classroom
The Responsive Classroom approach is known for teacher effectiveness, higher student achievement, and the emphasis it places on creating ideal spaces for learning.
The goal of the Responsive Classroom is to create a safe, joyful, and challenging learning environment for every child.
Benefits of this approach:
- Sets a positive tone and builds a sense of belonging each day in our Morning Meeting
- Teaches children the essential skills to participate successfully
- Treats mistakes as opportunities to learn, grow and improve
- Uses positive language
- Teaches in ways that build excitement about learning
- Gives children opportunities to reflect on their behaviour and learning
- Invites parents to become a partner in their child’s education.
Personalised Learning
Learning is also responsive and individualised. Each morning, we host a Morning Meeting with the whole class where we sit in a circle and children have the opportunity to participate in reading the morning message.
We then greet each child individually and complete a whole class and energiser activity. This helps build a community, encourages children to find and use their voices, and has a positive impact on our children’s personal, social, and emotional wellbeing.
