Busing

With our service, you can reclaim up to 2 hours a day that would otherwise be spent on driving to and from school.

Our buses help reduce the number of cars on the road, leading to less traffic congestion and a cleaner environment for everyone.

Door-to-Door Service: For maximum convenience, the bus picks up and drops off your child right at your doorstep.

Shuttle Service: A more flexible option, with set pick-up and drop-off locations within the community.

We offer a Door-to-Door service and a Shuttle Bus service. In addition, we have a Late Bus supporting families with children participating in after-school activities.

The service is managed by the ACS Transport Department and operated by external busing companies. Our registration and bus tracking systems are provided by Vectare.

This depends on where you live on the bus route. We plan our routes to be under an hour for all pick-up points, but this is dependent on traffic.

The majority of pickup times in the morning are between 7am and 8am, and afternoon drop-offs are between 4pm and 5pm (except the Late Bus). You will be notified of the specific times for your child prior to the start of the semester.

Yes, as long as you are within our busing catchment area our premium Door-to-Door service can pick-up and drop off from your door (subject to access for the bus).

No, there are no other adults besides the driver on board the buses, unless a teacher is using the bus service to travel to/from the school.

Each operator complies with all legislation and statutory regulations including valid Public Services Operators Licences, and all Department of Transport guidelines.

All buses are fitted with a CCTV camera (which is not accessible by the driver).

Each bus driver has been checked from a safeguarding perspective to the same standard required for our teachers.

Each bus driver has completed a wide range of training including child protection and safeguarding, ACS code of conduct, cybersecurity, health & safety and first aid.

All buses are monitored by the Transport Office using the Vectare tracking system and we have contact with all drivers throughout their journeys.

A member of the transport team supervises morning drop-off and afternoon departure.

Children below Grade 5 need to be met by a parent or guardian. This applies to the Door-to-Door, Shuttle services and the Late Bus. If a child below Grade 5 is not met, the driver will return the child to the school where they will be supervised until collected.

The Door-to-Door service can be requested on the Vectare website or App. You will then be contacted by your Transport Coordinator.

The Shuttle Bus service and the Late Bus can be booked on the Vectare website or App.

The Door-to-Door service and the Shuttle service are half year commitments – effectively you are buying a season ticket for a semester.

The Late Bus is bookable on a daily basis. Users of the afternoon Door-to-Door or Shuttle services may switch to the Late Bus without further charge.

You may sign up to the Door-to-Door or Shuttle services and pay pro-rata for the rest of that semester

Yes, the Vectare website and App enables parents to track the bus their child is on.

Yes, you can, however the Transport Office must be notified of any impending changes as far as in advance as you are able to, in order for the routes to be altered, information to be shared with the bus operator and any fee changes to be approved by our Fees Department.

There is no deadline for signing up to the busing service. Please do remember that (except the Late Bus) our services require a full semester commitment and can’t be cancelled once a semester has started. However, changes to a registration (e.g. if you move house and need to change route) can be accommodated mid-semester.
