Co-Curricular

Beyond the classroom

Life outside of the classroom is important for your child’s development as a well-rounded global citizen.

ACS Egham students benefit from excellent sporting facilities and a wealth of activities, including our musical, science, tech, and art groups. Additionally, we offer a wide range of service learning opportunities including our Nepal outreach programme.

ACS Egham’s co-curricular opportunities help cultivate the whole student while also being incredibly enjoyable.

The one thing that stands out for me at ACS, is that a child or young person can be who they want to be. They will come to school to a supportive environment that embraces diversity, while fostering a global perspective and understanding

Sport

In the Lower School, our co-curricular sports programme places an emphasis on team-work, physical fitness, and an active lifestyle.

Our programme is positive, highly inclusive, and helps students develop into well-rounded individuals ready for life.

Lower School students benefit from our sports fields as well as our outstanding indoor sports complex which features a dance studio, basketball courts, climbing wall, and badminton courts. Our clubs programme offers a wide range of opportunities including football, judo, tennis, basketball, dance, track and field, and other activities.

Visual Arts

We encourage all our Lower School students to engage in creative activities.

Students can experience a wide range of activities that awaken their creative talents, boost their cognitive abilities, and strengthen their problem-solving skills.

Our programme of clubs and activities directly support students wider academic endeavours. Innovation Tech, design, drawing, and craft clubs are just some of the options for students that have a keen interest in creativity and the arts.

Performing arts

The performing arts programme at ACS Egham is a vibrant platform for students to unleash their creativity and develop essential communication and collaboration skills.

Lower School students have the chance to explore various theatrical styles and gain invaluable stage experience with a dedicated drama teacher. They are also given the opportunity to take part in special productions (which extend to include the whole school) which are coordinated after school and culminate in a performance to parents in our drama space.

Home Language Enrichment

ACS Egham provides a Home Language Enrichment (HLE) programme from Grades 1 to 10 for those whose first language is not English, to maintain their native language and culture.

At ACS Egham, we value multiculturalism and believe that the continuing development of literacy in students’ native or home languages is of utmost importance. It is a prerequisite for personal and academic growth, and a recognition of the importance of students’ cultural heritage. Home languages are celebrated and valued as an asset to children’s development, and an opportunity to promote cross-cultural understanding in our community.

  • Mixed grade classes, with one class in each school division
  • Student centred – tutors devise their programme based on students’ needs and proficiency
  • Held after school for 1 hour per week
  • Offered as part of the school fee structure (at no additional cost to parents)
