ACS Egham Students Win International BCG Entrepreneurship Competition in Milan

ACS Egham is celebrating an outstanding achievement in entrepreneurship after its student team won 1st Place at the Business@School International Finals in Milan with their startup idea “RhythmBase”.

After progressing through multiple stages of the prestigious competition, founded by the Boston Consulting Group in 1998, the team of five students secured their place in the international final in Milan, where they presented their business concept to a panel of senior judges from global organisations, and prevailed against teams from Italy, Albania, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

RhythmBase

RhythmBase was created to solve a real challenge facing independent musicians. The platform combines artist management, gig booking, venue connections, analytics, income tracking, and AI-powered tools into a single ecosystem.

The students’ approach to entrepreneurship focused on identifying a genuine market need and developing a practical solution. Through extensive market research, customer interviews, and business planning, they validated their concept and built a compelling case for growth.

Presenting on an international stage in Milan, the team demonstrated the confidence, creativity, and innovation that successful entrepreneurship requires.

Developing Entrepreneurship Skills Through Real-World Learning

Over the course of a year, the team developed skills in market analysis, financial forecasting, product development, public speaking, and strategic planning. Their success reflects ACS Egham’s commitment to experiential learning and preparing students for an increasingly complex global economy.

As the UK’s first IB Continuum School, ACS Egham introduces students to these entrepreneurship skills from a young age, and continuously reinforces them throughout their time at school. Students can choose to study the Career-related IBCP pathway from age 16, an internationally respected qualification which directly tests and strengths these skills for futures in entrepreneurship and commercial success.

Through three competition phases, students gain hands-on experience developing business ideas, analysing markets, and presenting solutions to industry experts.
